3.1 Robots
November '19: Children in Third made robots using batteries, switches and motors. Each robot moved on its tripod (markers attached to metal with elastic bands!). Each child brought home their robots to show and tell their parents how they were made. Lots of problem solving and use of fine motor skills involved, but all children succeeded and enjoyed watching their robots move and draw!
3.2 Design & Make- a Pringle wheel!
Michelle Culloty from the PDST set the boys and girls in 3rd & 4th a delicious challenge when she came to explore maths with us - design and construct a wheel made from Pringles! This was a real challenge and one the children really relished ;-)
3.3 Design and Make Activities
1. TITANIC! Superb work!
2. Build a pyramid challenge! The boys and girls in 3rd & 4th classes were learning all about Ancient Egypt in history and really loved the engineering challenge where they had to design and build a Lego pyramid. This was much easier said than done as they soon discovered but through team work , problem solving and creative thinking each group created a great Lego Pyramid - some even had the Nile, some Nile crocodiles and the flag of Egypt too!

So Much Fun with Connect Straw Constructions
Distributed Connect Straws to pupils in small groups .The results were awesome but more importantly the process uncovered even more....lots of conversation ,laughter, discussing, planning, evaluating, designing and exploring. Fantastic teamwork!
